Training: Stat Points, nature, ability and moves
How to customise a Pokémon and spread its points without wasting VP.
Checked on Nov 1, 2026
What you can change
The training menu lets you change a Pokémon's Stat Points, moves, nature and ability. Only permanently recruited Pokémon can be trained; trial ones stay as they came.
Stat Points
- Each Pokémon has 66 Stat Points to spread.
- At most 32 in a single stat.
- At level 50, each point adds 1 to the stat before nature. A boosting nature multiplies the stat by 1.1 and a hindering one by 0.9.
- Stat Points do the job EVs do in other games.
What it costs
Training is paid with VP (Victory Points) or Training Tickets, which come from the Battle Pass and some missions. Exact VP prices differ between sources and can change with updates; the game shows the cost before you confirm.
Pokémon from HOME
EVs are converted into Stat Points. A Pokémon with full EVs in 3 or 4 stats arrives with 65 points and can get the last one in Champions; with EVs in 5 or 6 stats it arrives with all 66.
Before you spend VP
- Build the set in ChampForge: the builder counts the 66 points and won't let you go past 32.
- Pick the nature first, because it changes how many points you need.
- The Breakpoint Explorer shows the minimum points to survive a hit or outspeed a Pokémon, and applies the result to the builder in one click.
